What people say about Octopussys…..

Don’t take our word for it, hear what our customers have to say about the food, service and atmosphere at Octopussys – Dublin’s best seafood tapas restaurant…..

Really excellent seafood tapas, delicious. Lovely cosy place

Short 5 minute stroll from the train station and we arrived, greeted warmly and given a choice of seats. We chose to sit in the window to take in the views of the working harbour.  Extensive menu of which we chose oysters that were fresh and simply served, paella, crab claws with bread and potatoes braves washed down with a chilled, delicious bottle of prosecco. Not over priced, service charge included so tip covered and we can’t wait to visit again in the summer.

Great little place, cosy with character, fresh seafood, well cooked, good service, ya won’t be disappointed.

Except for the quirky name Octopussy Seafood Tapas Bar is probably the most inconspicuous place in a line of seafood restaurants facing Howth’s fishing harbour. We knew about its good reputation but that it wasn’t your regular seafood place was made clear to us when a line started to form outside some time before it opened for lunch. Seafood tapas is a great idea with small plates of fantastic seafood arriving to the table in a steady stream. The wine list is well thought through to balance the tastes. We munched on scampi, shrimps, scallops and an excellent, tasty plate of chili calamari and chorizo. All fresh from Seafood Tapas own fishing boat. It was without comparison the best food I had during my stay in Dublin. It’s well worth the train ride to Howth. I’d even bike out there if I had to.

I went with my friends for a trip in Howth and thanks to Tripadvisor we tried to find this beautiful restaurant. The seafood was very fresh, good and well done. Nice place in front of the harbour. Prices good for the quality of the food. I recommend to try this restaurant. I think I’ll come back soon.

We were recommended the restaurant by a friend living in Dublin, we cannot be more grateful. We started with broths soup and then octopus, deep fried calamari and a whole lobster (probably te best lobster I’ve ever had!) and accompanied by a great Spanish wine: el gordo del circo. Apart from the delicious food, it’s also worth mentioning the friendly staff! They were super nice and smiling!!

Great lunch here, sharing a seafood plate of mussels, Dublin Bay prawns, crab claws and langoustines. Charming service, great view from the window, it ticked all the boxes

Me & my husband visited on the 13th Jan. we were greeted by a lovely waitress who made us feel at home .  The restaurant is only small but has a lovely feel to it, we were sat in the window so we had a great view of the boats.  The food was delicious & fresh. Can highly recommend the squid in chorizo & chilli.  Wish it was closer to home as we would visit every weekend!
